Yamada Ryosuke, or Yama-Yama as I like to call him, is my favorite member of Hey! Say! JUMP. Previously he was a member of temporary unit Hey! Say! 7 but is now one of the front boys of this new group. He is definitely one of the most popular members, if not the most popular, of the group and it’s very easy to see why. A good singer, a talented actor and adorable to boot, he’s really working it from all angles.

Yama-Yama is only 15 but has made quite a name for himself in Johnny’s Entertainment. On August 12, 2004, he appeared on variety show Ya-ya-yah. The years passed by and Yamada particiapted in the following groups: J.J. Express, Kitty Jr. as well as J.J. Express Chibikko Team. Three years lated (April 2007), he joined temporary junior unit Hey! Say! 7 and that group released their first single, Hey! Say! a couple months after (September 24, 2007), it was announced that Hey! Say! 7 would be no more and that a 10-piece group would be formed called Hey! Say! JUMP. The group has currently released three singles: Ultra Music Power, Dreams come true and Your Seed / 冒険ライダー. All of the singles have gone to number one on the Oricon Charts, definitely an accomplishment to be proud of. With the more recent releases, Yamada has been center-stage on the PVs and has had a big role in singing on the songs (not only with the entire group singing). He has a great voice so it’s great to see him in his position and I hope he’ll continue to have this much attention in the future (or even more).

In addition to doing a great job with Hey! Say! JUMP, he appeared in various dramas. In 2006, he has his first big break in the acting role with the role of Ryuu Amakusa in Tantei Gakuen Q. He gained a lot of popularity in this role and continued to get parts in other dramas. The year after, he played Mukoda Katsumi in 1 Pound no Fukuin alongside Kamenashi Kazuya of JE group KAT-TUN. He took on the role of Gunjou Hayato in Sensei wa Erai! with his Hey! Say! JUMP bandmates Nakajima, Chinen and Arioka. He then played the lead role in Furuhata Chugakusei as the character Furuhata Ninzaburo. Along with the same Hey! Say! JUMP members who he previously worked with on a drama, he will be appearing in the October drama Scrap Teacher and it looks to be an exciting project.

Yama-Yama is very close to Nakajima Yuto and they became friends when Yuto asked him to walk with him from school to home (aww, that’s really close). His favorite subject is social studies and his favorite number is 4. His blood type is B and his favorite colors are white and orange. His favorite sport is soccer (just like Kota!) while his hobbies include fishing and cooking (that’s helpful of course). Strawberries, eggplants and meat are his favorite foods with tomatoes and fermented soybeans as his least favorite foods. He is a loud person and doesn’t like critcism (haha, who does?). He is good at mimicking people (hahaha) and he treasures his pets (2 guinea pigs, a rabbit and a hamster).

From his face to his personality, it’s so easy to see why so many people (including me) love him. Just look at his face and say that you don’t love him.
